Carmen: (Enter). Good morning everyone! It is such a beautiful morning here on the farm.
Scruffy: (Enter, look around and then lay down and go to sleep).
Carmen: (Talking to the teacher). I just don’t understand how Scruffy can sleep so much.
Teacher: Some dogs just like to lay in the sun all day and sleep.
Carmen: But, it’s such a beautiful day!
Scruffy: It would be a lot better day if you would keep the noise down so I could sleep.
Carmen: Oh be quiet! I am going to enjoy the day like Patch and Fizzgig.
Teacher: What are Patch and Fizzgig doing this morning?
Carmen: They went fishing. They have to get up early so they can beat Hamhawk to the lake.
Teacher: Why do they have to beat Hamhawk there?
Carmen: Oh you know… Hamhawk likes to do his pig diving exercises all day.
Teacher: Oh yeah… I forgot about the famous diving pigs.
Scruffy: Famous?! Ha hah… He looks like a fat pig doing a belly flop in the mud. It keeps me awake when I am at the lake sleeping.
Carmen: Is that all you think about is sleeping?
Scruffy: Can’t hear you… I’m sleeping.
Patch: (Enter).
Carmen: Morning Patch! How is the fishing going?
Patch: Well, we fished for about two hours and did not catch anything. Then Hamhawk showed up and that was the end of the fishing.
Scruffy: (Raise your head up and laugh then go back to sleep).
Patch: Poor Fizzgig, he is a real good fisher cat and he did not even get a nibble.
Carmen: That’s to bad… He really loves fish in the morning with his pancakes.
Patch: Yep.
Fizzgig: (Enter, you are very happy, be singing a happy song).
Carmen: You sure are in a good mood.
Fizzgig: Yep…
Patch: I figured you would be in a bad mood because you did not catch any fish.
Fizzgig: I was until I ran into Bob.
Patch: Ouch… Is he okay?
Fizzgig: No no, I did not run into him I just stopped by and talked with him.
Patch: Oh.. That’s good.
Carmen: What did Bob say that made you so happy?
Fizzgig: He was out in the yard reading the Bible. He was reading about the big catch of fish.
Carmen: The big catch of fish?
Fizzgig: Yeah.. Some of the disciples were out fishing and they fished all night long. They, like me did not catch anything. They tried and tried but did not catch a single fish.
Scruffy: (Raise your head up). Ha ha ha sounds like they took fishing lessons from you. (go back to sleep).
Fizzgig: No, that’s not the end of the story… That morning Jesus appeared on the shore and yelled out to them. He told them to cast their net on the other side of the boat. When they did, it filled up the whole net!! They were unable to pull all the fish in!
Carmen: Wow! That’s a great story!
Fizzgig: So, I am going to the other side of the lake and catch more fish then I ever have!
Teacher: Wait a minute there Fizz. Going to the other side of the lake is not going to get you more fish. Jesus performed a miracle and that is what brought all the fish into the disciples net.
Fizzgig: Oh…well.. I am going to try anyway. See ya! (Leave).
Patch: Wait up I am going with you! (Leave).
Carmen: Do you think that he will catch a lot of fish?
